Virgo is one of the two signs of the zodiac (the other being Capricorn) which I believe has been hijacked by patriarchal consciousness and is portrayed as prissy, fussy, neat, tidy, critical, a bit up tight (virginal and chaste) with the saving grace of being great at organising.

At this full moon let us celebrate the true essence of Virgo as the earthy energy of fullness, ripe harvest, the goddess who is self-sufficient, self-contained, whole and complete unto herself, one with the earth and with cosmic mother.  Virgo is discerning about whom she shares herself with, but when she does she is whole hearted and passionate.

Taking the form of Astraea, the goddess of innocence, purity, precision, and justice, she left earth to reside in the constellation of Virgo due to disillusionment with humanity’s wickedness.  It is said that when Astraea returns to earth she will bring with her a golden age.

With Sun, Jupiter, Neptune and Mercury all in Pisces opposing the Moon, magical and angelic energy is present.  The Virgo Pisces axis is one of health and service, connecting mind, body and spirit and embodying spiritual and practical service.

Pluto trines the moon adding emotional intensity, and also trines the North Node; creating a grand earth trine of empowerment (Pluto) of the people (Moon) towards our collective destiny (North Node).  Tune into this full moon’s compassion and spiritual intensity transforming into practical service in the world.
