“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” Mary Oliver
Scientists calculate the probability of your existing today exactly as you are in this particular time, place and circumstance to be at about one in 400 trillion.
Buddhists consider the human rebirth to be extremely rare and compare it to a ring floating on the waves of the sea, tossed this way and that by the winds and currents. The likelihood of a blind turtle, rising from the depths of the ocean to the surface once in a hundred years and putting its head through the ring is considered greater than that of achieving rebirth as a human.
“There is a vitality, a life force, an energy, a quickening that is translated through you into action, and because there is only one of you in all of time, this expression is unique. And if you block it, it will never exist through any other medium, and be lost. The world will not have it.
It is not your business to determine how good it is, not how valuable, nor how it compares with other expressions. It is your business to keep it yours, clearly and directly, to keep the channel open.”
Martha Graham
Many clients ask me about their mission or life purpose. My answer is simple. Your life purpose is to be yourself – be that one in 400 trillion person that no one else can be and offer that one in 400 trillion contribution that no one else can offer. Your journey is to discover who you are and your purpose is to become all that you can be.
“The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.” Pablo Picasso
